At the Regular Meeting on February 27th, Donna and Marvin Redmond were initiated into Elkdom.
The first
weekend of Mardi Gras was very successful for fundraising efforts. Even with the rain on Saturday we had pretty strong numbers for the
weekend. We are hoping to have a very successful second weekend and hopefully
the weather will cooperate.
We are
currently at 144 members for the Houma Elks Lodge # 1193. This gives us a gain
in membership for the 2018-2019 Elks year. We need to continue trying to
recruit new members and look forward to seeing all members become more involved
in our charitable works.
There will be a Sadie Hawkins Dance for Terrebonne ARC on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 7:00 PM. Once
we have details on the location we will be let the members of the Lodge know. Please come out and help if you are able. This is the second year that
the Houma Elks will assist with this event and it's sure to be a
great time.
The first District Deputy Clinic for the 2019-2020 Elk year will be held on April 6, 2019 at Opelousas
Lodge # 1148. The clinic starts at 10:00 AM and I’m sure there will be a lunch
that can be purchased if you are interested.
