It has been difficult for all of us to stay positive throughout this pandemic and indeed through these trying times for our country. But our love of God and country must stay intact! It’s been a trying year. (Yes, a year!)
For the Elks, our charitable giving also remains intact. We have gotten approval for our $3500 Beacon Grant to be donated to the Terrebonne Churches Food Bank. We have also obtained the Spotlight Grant in the amount of $2000 for the Terrebonne Community Gardens. We hope through the Spotlight Grant we forge a great community partnership for education of our youth, in addition to producing more food for our community and the local food banks. We are very excited to maintain the gardens and utilize the Coteau property to a fuller extent.
Our Mardi Gras season has been postponed but the crews hope to roll in April. Let’s all keep our fingers
crossed. We all hope to see our Houma streets filled with good times again!
In sadness we must also report the death of two of our Elk members. Please keep the families of Roy
Youngblood, Jr. and Keith M. Whipple in your hearts and prayers.
God Bless.
Fraternally yours,
Julie Jeansonne
